Located in an old Friendly's a little off the beaten path, this restaurant has ample parking which is refreshing being that you normally have to circle a block to get a parking spot on Main Street in Bay Shore. Cute decor and friendly service. The food is solid albeit salty but nothing was bad. In fact, the mac and cheese was pretty darn good because I am still thinking about it a few days later. The portions were large and we both got a to go box and did not have room for dessert even though we were interested. Went here for a quick and casual date night with the hubs and we enjoyed it and would come back with our kids. More of a family vibe than a date night spot.

Everything was fresh of freshest so many choices. Spinach salad absolutely delicious. The gluten-free pizza with chicken very very good.

OMG there is NO other place like this in a 20 mile radius. The chefs here take pride in creating a "food experience". If you are bored of going out to eat the same old dishes even in different restaurants. Just head to zest and try anyone of their dishes. You won't be disappointed.

This place was fantastic. We took a ride out from Queens and landed here based on reviews for a quick and casual bite. We greatly enjoyed our sandwiches, the flavor and creation concept was on point. The fries were cooked to perfection and the slaw was one of the best I ever had. Even though 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 tea was refreshing and delicious! We will definitely be back and have already spread the word to family and friends! Thank you for something fresh, fun and flavorful!

I've passed by this spot so many times and finally stopped by yesterday. First of all, the decor is so unique. It gives grunge vibes and the ambiance is pretty intimate with the dim lights. Service was great! I didn't get the name of our server but she was very attentive throughout the night making sure we had enough water, taking the time to explain the menu and answer questions. My friend needed gluten free accommodations and the server was amazing with addressing these- informing us of the cauliflower crust substitutions for pizza or sandwich bread. In the process of this she also went to the back to speak with the chef and ensure the dessert my friend wanted was gluten free. The chef himself was also willing to accommodate my friend's food restriction as he offered to grill instead of fry one of the menu items for her to ensure the gluten free accommodation. The co-owner also came to check on us toward the end of the meal which is always nice. Fun fact: the chef is the other owner. The food was FRESH! And the server wasn't lying when she said they are friendly portions! We both were pleasantly surprised. Appetizer: -Corn Bread: I love sweet corn bread so this was a winner! It is made in house and came out warm. I would've loved for it to be more moist but their special butter helped alleviate a bit of the dryness. Entree: -Burger: forgot the name of the one I picked (fried onion rings, spinach, grilled mushrooms, Muenster cheese, beef Patty, tomato and chipotle aioli between two brioche buns) perfectly cooked! I asked for medium rare. The combination of the onion rings with the burger and aioli was beautiful. Such a perfect blend of flavors! Side: -Fries: I asked for extra crispy and that's exactly how they came out. So perfectly crisp and fluffy inside and it's flavored well! Dessert: -Red Velvet Brownie: soft and decadent. It was a bit overwhelming the combination of flavors going on all at once- coconut flakes with cookies and cream gelato, the red velvet brownie and chocolate pretzels. A little much for taste buds to process on a collective scale but nonetheless a good concept! Overall, you can tell the chef has a wide pallet of creativity in the kitchen as well as the restaurant. As you look through the menu, you'll find a nice variety of options. Love to see a Chef who enjoys creating and has a passion not only for his food but also for service. Support a local restaurant and give them a shot- they won't disappoint!

Why did take me so long to try this place!? I'm in bay shore for over a year now, my wife and I have tried just about everything on Main Street. The only thing I can think of, is maybe Zest is on the most western part of town. Well, we have been there twice this month and have no plans on taking this place off our radar. The atmosphere itself is fun, low key and artsy. They have cool celebrity / Hollywood paintings throughout the restaurant in bright vibrant colors. The menu has a little bit of everything, and there are some untraditional dishes or variations on food you are used to, and they are delicious. The first time we went, we ordered the short rib potato skins app which were mouthwatering. I had the panko chicken sandwich, and it was exploding with flavor. My wife had the Ala Vodka pizza which was delicious. The second time we went, I had the burger and added avocado and bacon, my wife again wanted a pizza and went with the white pie. She enjoyed that even more than the first one. The huge winner here was dessert, which my wife is more of a fan of sweets than myself. THEY HAD ZEPPOLES. We all know any street fair serves these up best, and pizzerias offer them but they are never even close to that. When I tell you Zest offers the best made and tasting zeppoles next to a street fair, you have to try it yourself. We were honestly shocked with how many you get in one order for $10. The pricing for their food is super reasonable and they offer a ton of specials via their texting service. Many coupons & lotteries are sent out which makes dinning there that much better.

This place is absolutely awesome for families. Really solid menu with plenty of options for kids, and it showed - there were tons of happy families with young kids eating there! We love to see it. The service was fast and friendly and the decor is fun and inviting. Unfortunately I just didn't love the food. The wings were decent but everything else was lacking for me. Gorgonzola on a burger might be an acquired taste. The table cornbread felt out of place, cuisine wise. I probably wouldn't go here again but I'd send my friends with kids based on the experience!
